Winter Trains

On June 21st, on the summer solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, we arrived in Oslo and the two days later took the train to Bergen, our new home.

Today, nearly six months later, we would repeat the journey, this time in the depths of winter.

The Bergen Railway is a seven hour journey, and apparently is the best training journey in the world (although googling suggests any number of train journeys make that claim including several within Norway).

My colleagues warned me in winter, I wouldn’t see much other than walls of snow.  However, with no direct flights from Denmark back to Bergen, we decided to check out the winter rail journey for ourselves.

Kia ora. A blast from the past from a former co-worker at Navman.
I just discovered your blog and thought I’d leave a short message.
You seem to have fun in Norway judging from all I see here, despite the cold!
